FAMILIARITY -- 2nd day in Indigo Ideas Manila (April 18, 2011)

Well it's my second day in Indigo Ideas Manila. I still don't know how to commute from Shaw Station up to the office so I took the cab again, another 70 pesos. Anyway, my second day was great. I already became familiarized on the place and the people in the office. Actually we ate together for merienda cause I didn't take my lunch. My task was to call again for clients and send the company's credentials to different communication brand/ company manager.

1st Day in Indigo Ideas Manila (April 16, 2012)

I was nervous I admit, because after orienting me about the job that I'm going to do, I think they're expecting so much from me. I am not saying that I don;t want them to expect too much, it's just that I don't want to disappoint them if something's happen or go wrong. It's my first day and it's also my first time to work inside the office. That's my first task, as the point person of the company I have to be responsible of all the calls and the office as well. Our office is in Ortigas, it's difficult for me to get there. There's no jeep or FX that I could ride to make my way to the office easy. I have to take the cab going out and going in of the office. The ambiance of Ortigas is also different. OFFICE AMBIANCE is what I called it. Everyone seems professional.Walking along the street of Emerald Avenue, wearing their suits and smart casual clothes.

No one is in the office yet, I thought I was too early but no. This office was really owned by one attorney but it's rare that they see him in the office.  So we're just 4 in the office. So expect that it's quiet and you might really could get bored when you're here. :)

Knowing more your rights... (April13, 2012)

Last April 13, 2012, Philippine Human Rights had their Karapatan ng mga Bata: Sa Isip, Sa Salita at Sa Gawa forum and workshop for barangay officials, 4Ps coordinators, DSWD people and social workers in Navotas, for them to know more what are the rights of the children involving to the government's program of Pantawid Pamilya.

Waking up early was worth it. The workshop was held in Ciudad Christia in San Mateo Rizal. The place was really nice. That is where 9 Waves Resort is located at.

Our tasks were to assist the guests in registration and document the whole workshop for the day. We also shoot few people for our short documentary video about the forum. It was fun and very engaging. We really learned a lot while listening to the facilitators and speakers.

The official photographer of the day, yours truly! :)

Doing our tasks seriously. Feels great to work with these people. :)

Before the participants took their lunch, the children performed their prepared presentation for the guests which they also learned on the workshop that they've gone through last November 2011. Then of course we also took pictures of ourselves for this personal blog. :)

What a fulfilling experience. I enjoyed and learned a lot at the same time! :)

Here comes the TASKS... (April 12, 2012)

Then we met our BOSS. Sir Joms, the information center head officer, orient us on the different tasks that we need to do for the whole term of our internship. As we listened and saw the things that we need to do, we got really excited! :D PhilRights expect too much from us so we really need to focus and do better. Mostly our tasks are video editing and documentation, which are really my thing.

I forgot to bring a camera so I just used my phone. :) Patty and Jessy checking out the photos that we need to use for our first task while I do the script and shot list.

That's it for the second day.... TO BE CONTINUED :)

First Day in PhilRights (April 11, 2012)

We took the MRT going to Quezon City. We already knew that there will be a lot of people riding MRT so we went at EDSA station a little bit earlier than them. :) PATIENCE---- first value that we learned and we should still learn in able to survive the difficulty of riding the LRT and MRT especially during peak hours.

On our first day Tito Pepe, the internship coordinator of PhilRights, orient us on what PhilRights is all about, the organization's vision and mission, their programs and activities and the different parts and departments of PhilRights.

Tito Pepe and Jessy

When Tito Pepe let us watch the AVP that their former interns made (UP Manila) in 2009, we already had an idea on what are the things that we should do. First, fix and improve the AVP which contains the introduction of Philippine Rights and their programs. :)

Tito Pepe gave us a copy of two of their publications, the Forum and the In Focus. :)

When we tour the place, we also met the other staffs and the foreign intern, Celine from France. We also saw the office of PAHRA on the last story of the building. :) We're excited to start and experience on how to become an intern in PhilRights.
